THE WHITE SPIRE
A 3 days-long Dragon Age LARP
20-25 August 2027
La Chapelle Gaudin - West of France
« They say the sky was black with smoke and ashes. They say the ground itself was shaking and eyes looked up with horror as Kirkwall’s Chantry and all its occupants were turned to dust. When I heard the news, I remember thinking; the Maker will never forgive us. The gates of the Golden City will not open for our souls. The mages have doomed us. »
Year 37 of the Dragon Age, the Free Marches. An apostate mage destroys the Kirkwall chantry, inspiring mages to revolt against the Circle system and igniting a rebellion that would soon spread all across Thédas.

Rumor has it there is a Maleficar in the tower. To catch the blood mage and restore order, the new Knight Commander is set on putting an end to their predecessor’s libertarian reforms.
The place that once felt like home starts to feel like a cage. Old quarrels resurface. New fires start.
For now, templars and mages alike are blind to a terrible truth: the White Spire is living its last days.
And the Circle won’t have a quiet end.
« They think they own us, think they decide whether we live or die. They sit there smug in their armor, ready to cut off our heads for the slightest transgression, as though we don't strive every day to stay sane, to keep the demons away. »
—From the journal of an unknown mage

« Mages who honor the Maker and keep His laws we welcome as our brothers and sisters. Those who reject the laws of the Maker and the words of His prophet are apostates. They shall be cast out, and given no place among us. »
—From The Sermons of Justinia I
Year 37 of the Dragon Age, Val Royaux. The most prestigious Circle of Magi, The White Spire, is still untouched by the rebellion. For good reason: most of its inhabitants have been cut from the outside world for four months.
The White Spire is a 3-days-long larp set in the world of Dragon Age. It is a relationship-driven, nordic style semi transparent larp. The larp is set in a Circle of Magi and the characters are a mix of mages, who are locked away from society, and their glorified jailers, the templars. It will focus on themes such as the psychological pressure of being isolated, imprisoned and sometimes mistreated, the fear of difference and the violent end of a religious oppressive system. It is inspired by Dragon Age’s gritty, sometimes horrific, atmosphere. Players will experience some of their characters’ discomforts and are invited to explore hard themes - but the players’ limits and safety should always remain everyone’s priority.
No need to know Dragon Age’s lore to sign up. No armors, partial costumes provided.
